I’m Ferenc, an independent, senior full-stack developer based in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
Since working together usually means diving deep into your systems for weeks or months, it helps to know how I think, communicate, and collaborate beyond what a portfolio can show.

Following the problem, not the stack
I started programming as a child out of curiosity: building, breaking, and reading unfamiliar code to see how things worked.
That same curiosity led me to apply for a job years later simply because the company used Meteor, a framework I wanted to learn. After the interviews, they offered me an unexpected frontend role instead. I hesitated, fearing a detour, but curiosity won.
The project turned out to be an unstable, half-finished AngularJS codebase left in a difficult state. I stepped in, figured out what the product and team actually needed, and got it live.
Only later did I realize why that experience mattered. They didn't hire me for a specific tool; they hired me to walk into an awkward situation, make sense of a mess, and move it forward.
That set the pattern for my career. I realized that instead of protecting the boundaries of a stack, I will always care more about solving the actual problem. Most teams don’t need a framework specialist—they need someone who can work across those boundaries, whatever the situation requires.
Close to the work
Close to the work, close to the people
I prefer direct conversations with the people who build, run, or use the system. It could be a founder, another developer, or the operator managing a workflow out of a spreadsheet.
I don’t show up with a rigid process and expect your team to bend to it. I adapt to what is already there, balancing risk and human context. AI helps me navigate unfamiliar codebases and test ideas faster, but it doesn’t replace the hardest part: understanding the people, the history, and the real-world consequences of a technical choice.
Independent work
Independent, but not invisible
I own problems independently, but you’ll never have to guess where things stand.
I keep our communication clear: what I'm investigating, what I've found, what remains uncertain, and why I recommend a specific path. I bring strong opinions, but I don't need my preferred solution to win.
I would rather surface a risk or a disagreement early than disappear and return weeks later with the wrong thing built perfectly. This approach works best with teams that value honest, direct talk about constraints.

While I work remotely with clients across Europe, I’m deeply familiar with local and regional operations. This familiarity matters when software has to integrate with local habits and offline realities—details that generic SaaS assumptions often miss.
